Message from the President of ISSMGE
Dear Geo-Professionals, It is a pleasure to see the circulation of another high quality issue of the refereed International Journal of Geoengineering Case Histories, which is an official journal of the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE). This is a new, but important journal that focuses on the practice of geoengineering. The journal has many unique characteristics intended to serve the profession worldwide, such as free access to the papers, colored figures, and electronic files of all the data presented in the paper. The growth of this journal is a priority of my Presidency, as this publication can serve all of our 19,000 members in all 86 countries at no cost to them. In today's world where books and journals have become very expensive and where practitioners complain about the lack of practical journal papers, this free and very high quality journal concentrating on practice and field data is a breath of fresh air and a great service to our profession. I would like to invite you to submit manuscripts for consideration and potential publication in this high quality Journal. Jean-Louis Briaud President of ISSMGE International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering
