Request from Technical Committee on Underground Construction in Soft Ground (TC204) for nominations to give the Inaugural ‘Keiichi Fujita Lecture’ at the next TC204 symposium in Seoul, South Korea in 2014.

Following the death of Professor Fujita at the end of July 2010, our previous TC204 chairman, Professor Richard Kastner, proposed the idea of introducing a prestigious lecture to be entitled the ‘Keiichi Fujita Lecture’.  The intention with the lecture is to recognise the enormous contribution made by Professor Fujita in setting up TC 28 (as it was then), taking on the responsibility of chairman and participating in many other roles, both technical and organisational.

Nominations of people you feel appropriate to give this lecture, i.e. people with an international reputation in the field of underground construction in soft ground and who can deliver a good lecture, should be in the form of a nomination letter accompanied by the CV of the person nominated (support letters are optional).  The final decision regarding the choice of the lecturer will be made by a TC204 awards sub-committee.
